Internetnutzung im Studentenwohnheim – wichtige Informationen
Damit Sie Ihren Internetanschluss im Wohnheim nutzen können, müssen einige Regeln beachtet werden. Hier finden Sie alle wichtigen Informationen zu Gebühren, Kündigung, Datenvolumen und möglichen Sperren.
1. Verwaltungsgebühren
- Für die Nutzung des Wohnheim-Internets zahlen Sie eine Verwaltungsgebühr pro Semester.
- Ein Semester dauert 6 Monate:
- Wintersemester: September – Februar
- Sommersemester: März – August
- Die Gebühr muss im Voraus an die Bundesbank überwiesen werden.
Wichtig:
- Wenn die Gebühr nicht rechtzeitig und vollständig bezahlt ist, wird Ihr Anschluss zum Semesterbeginn gesperrt.
- Eine Freischaltung erfolgt erst am nächsten Werktag, nachdem die Zahlung eingegangen ist.
2. Kündigung
- Wenn Sie den Anschluss nicht mehr benötigen (z. B. bei Auszug), müssen Sie rechtzeitig kündigen.
- Die Kündigungsfrist beträgt einen Monat vor Semesterende.
- Ohne Kündigung läuft der Vertrag automatisch weiter und es entstehen weitere Kosten.
- Unbezahlte Gebühren gelten als Schulden gegenüber der TH Brandenburg. Diese müssen spätestens vor Ihrer Exmatrikulation beglichen werden.
3. Technischer Hintergrund
- Ihr Wohnheim-Internet ist direkt mit dem Campus-Netz der TH Brandenburg verbunden.
- Die TH Brandenburg wiederum ist über das X-WiN des Deutschen Forschungsnetzes (DFN e.V.) mit dem Internet verbunden.
- Da die verfügbare Bandbreite begrenzt ist, kann die Hochschule bei Bedarf die Internetgeschwindigkeit drosseln oder den Zugang zeitweise einschränken.
4. Datenvolumen (Fair-Use-Regelung)
- Jeder Anschluss hat aktuell ein monatliches Datenlimit von 600 GB (eingehende und ausgehende Daten zusammen).
- Sie können Ihren aktuellen Verbrauch online einsehen unter: https://selfservice.th-brandenburg.de/
- Webseite: Dienste → Netzzugang → Datenverbrauch
- Dort auf Ihre IP-Adresse klicken, um Details zu sehen.
- Die Anzeige wird täglich aktualisiert.
- Bitte beachten: Das Volumen wird nach dem Dezimalsystem (10er-Potenzen) berechnet, nicht nach der üblichen Informatiker-Umrechnung mit 1024.
- Beispiel: 9.460.099.370 Bytes = 9,46 GB (statt 8,81 GB).
5. Sperrungen bei Überschreitung
- Wenn Sie mehr als 600 GB pro Monat verbrauchen, wird Ihr Internetanschluss gesperrt.
- Während der Sperre haben Sie weiterhin Zugriff auf:
- Ihre E-Mails
- Das THB-Campusnetz
- Die Sperre wird erst im Folgemonat aufgehoben, abhängig von der Höhe der Überschreitung:
- > 600 GB: Freischaltung am 1. Werktag des Folgemonats
- > 660 GB: Freischaltung am 8. Werktag des Folgemonats
- Für je weitere 60 GB verlängert sich die Sperre jeweils um 7 Tage.

In order to use your internet connection in student accommodation, there are a few rules you need to follow. Here you will find all the important information about fees, cancellation, data volume and possible blocks.
1. Administration fees
- You pay an administration fee per semester for using the internet in student accommodation.
- A semester lasts 6 months:
- Winter semester: September – February
- Summer semester: March – August
- The fee must be transferred to the Bundesbank in advance.
Important:
- If the fee is not paid in full and on time, your connection will be blocked at the beginning of the semester.
- Your connection will only be reactivated on the next working day after payment has been received.
2. Cancellation
- If you no longer require the connection (e.g. when moving out), you must cancel it in good time.
- The cancellation period is one month before the end of the semester.
- Without cancellation, the contract will automatically continue and further costs will be incurred.
- Unpaid fees are considered debts owed to TH Brandenburg. These must be paid before you leave the university at the latest.
3. Technical background
- Your accommodation internet is directly connected to the TH Brandenburg campus network.
- TH Brandenburg is in turn connected to the internet via the X-WiN of the German Research Network (DFN e.V.).
- As the available bandwidth is limited, the university may throttle the internet speed or temporarily restrict access if necessary.
4. Data volume (fair use policy)
- Each connection currently has a monthly data limit of 600 GB (incoming and outgoing data combined).
- You can view your current usage online: https://selfservice.th-brandenburg.de/
- Website: Services → Network access → Data usage
- Click on your IP address there to see details.
- The display is updated daily.
- Please note: The volume is calculated according to the decimal system (powers of 10), not according to the usual computer science conversion with 1024.
- Example: 9,460,099,370 bytes = 9.46 GB (instead of 8.81 GB).
5. Blocking when exceeded
- If you use more than 600 GB per month, your internet connection will be blocked.
- During the block, you will still have access to:
- Your emails
- The THB campus network
- The block will only be lifted in the following month, depending on the amount of the excess:
- > 600 GB: Unblocked on the 1st working day of the following month
- > 660 GB: Unblocked on the 8th working day of the following month
- For every additional 60 GB, the block is extended by 7 days.

- Pour utiliser Internet dans la résidence universitaire, vous devez payer des frais administratifs par semestre.

- Si les frais ne sont pas payés dans les délais et dans leur intégralité, votre connexion sera bloquée au début du semestre.

2. Résiliation
- Si vous n'avez plus besoin de la connexion (par exemple, en cas de déménagement), vous devez la résilier en temps utile.
- Le délai de préavis est d'un mois avant la fin du semestre.
- Sans résiliation, le contrat se poursuit automatiquement et des frais supplémentaires sont facturés.
- Les frais impayés sont considérés comme des dettes envers l'université technique de Brandebourg. Ceux-ci doivent être réglés au plus tard avant votre désinscription.
3. Contexte technique
- L'Internet de votre résidence universitaire est directement connecté au réseau du campus de l'université technique de Brandebourg.
- L'université technique de Brandebourg est quant à elle connectée à Internet via le X-WiN du réseau allemand de recherche (DFN e.V.).
- La bande passante disponible étant limitée, l'université peut, si nécessaire, réduire la vitesse de connexion Internet ou restreindre temporairement l'accès.
4. Volume de données (règle d'utilisation équitable)
- Chaque connexion dispose actuellement d'une limite mensuelle de 600 Go (données entrantes et sortantes combinées).
- Vous pouvez consulter votre consommation actuelle en ligne: https://selfservice.th-brandenburg.de/
- Site web : Services → Accès au réseau → Consommation de données
- Cliquez sur votre adresse IP pour voir les détails.
- L'affichage est mis à jour quotidiennement.
- Remarque : le volume est calculé selon le système décimal (puissances de 10), et non selon la conversion informatique habituelle avec 1024.
- Exemple : 9 460 099 370 octets = 9,46 Go (au lieu de 8,81 Go).
5. Blocages en cas de dépassement
- Si vous consommez plus de 600 Go par mois, votre connexion Internet sera bloquée.
- Pendant le blocage, vous continuerez d'avoir accès à :
- Vos e-mails
- Au réseau du campus THB
- Le blocage ne sera levé que le mois suivant, en fonction du dépassement :
- > 600 Go : déblocage le 1er jour ouvrable du mois suivant
- > 660 Go : déblocage le 8e jour ouvrable du mois suivant
- Pour chaque tranche supplémentaire de 60 Go, le blocage est prolongé de 7 jours.
